Pictures found in an abandoned ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle), 2004. It was recovered from the sea floor, damaged and with its umbilical cord cut off, 3 years after being lost during the survey of the sunken ship Ehime Maru.
The vehicle was found during a sea floor survey by the Polynesian Oil & Gas Company. They were attempting to build an oil pipeline in Hawaii. The company closed in 2014 but an ex-employee managed to hold on to these documents.
